What is interesting to someone, could be boring to someone else

He is a WW1 vet, but didn't see a lot of action in WWII.
                Got the KVK and Krimshield.
                So, not a real 'kämpfer'

It seems that from 1940 - 1945 he was part of diffenrent "L.S. Abt. (mot)" - Luftschutz -

Abteilung (mot) - Air precaution Abteilung motorized and different Luftwaffe Bau Abteilungen.

Early war he was with Luftwaffe Bau battalions, with the Roman numerals being the Wehrkreis where the unit was formed. Later he was with Luftwaffe Luftschutz units made up of SHD (Sicherheits u. Hilfsdeinst.).

Given his rank, he spent the first part of the war serving in or commanding various luftwaffe bau units, then from mid 1943 he moved over to the Luftschutz, again, given his rank i guess commanding a luftschutz abteilung.
