SA-Sportabzeichen entry in Soldbuch

Hi,

i have a quick question. Why did they write the SA-Wehrabzeichen as a "war decoration" in the Soldbuch? I mean it wasn`t a war decoration as the assault badge or the EK2?

Awards for non combat related events were occasionally entered into SB.

The Sudetenland/Anschluss / Memel medals spring to mind and even sports awards such as the one you noted. Depends on who was inputting the information.

Remember also qualification badge are not combat related and these are entered (pilots badge, etc).
