Luftwaffe Soldbuch with a sudden stop in 1940

Although it might not seem a spectacular one, this Soldbuch did spark my interest. What we have is a professional Luftwaffe soldier, who entered service in 1936 and attained the rank of Feldwebel when his Soldbuch was started in September 1939. He served with the staff of the Fliegerhorstkommandatur Nordhausen (place of the future V2 rocket production facility and KZ Dora-Mittelbau). Then, there are only minimal entries; one leave in January 1940, a complete equipment issue on May 15th, 1940, and the last entry being an (unconfirmed) promotion to Oberfeldwebel on June 1st, 1940. The Soldbuch was never closed, there are also no hospital entries suggesting he might have been discharged on medical grounds.

I have bought it presuming he might have been KIA on the Western Front, but can't find anything on the Volksbund site, though I admit having some difficulties with his name... do you also read it as Kurt Hergt? Thanks for any opinions!

Possibly a new Soldbuch (Zweitschrift) was issued for some reason and this one left apart?
I've seen in past groupings with 2 Soldbuecher.

Yes, I've seen it before as well and if he was not KIA or discharged, that would be the most likely explanation.

I think the name is correct, Kurt Hergt but can not find any reference to him....not even in aircrew losses!

As mentioned above...possible Zweitschrift given.......I have a few from this time period with nothing in them about closure but they have transferred from LW to Heer and been given a Heer SB.....

Incidentally the leave is signed off by Hauptmann Erich Hildebrandt as Ergänzungs Offizier with Fliegerhorstkompanie Nordhausen. He ended the war as Oberstleutnant u. Bataillon Kommdandeur of II/Ln.Rgt. 10.
