in May 1944 Albert arrive in Italy
It 's always complicated research departments Flak, but we have a few information reliable and verifiable.
From July 1944 to the end of September 1944, the 361 Flak Abteilung was south of Bologna, exactly of Vado (between Marzabotto and Monzuno) in defense of the most important railway viaduct between Bologna and Florence ....
Here is the first tragic photo on Vado sky (where the Flak Abteilung 361 operated under the 105 Flak Regiment). The B-26 Marauder hit here, 10 July 1944, was bombing the bridge .... It was piloted by the 1st. Lt. Wiginton. The plane crashed nearby, south of Sasso Marconi, and all the crew died.....
(The 105 Flak Regiment with its units, also participated in the round-up and Marzabotto massacre, but it is very unlikely that our Albert will have taken part, because generally the Flak units used for "partisan-war" non-essential soldiers of services and logistics, not artillery men in guns service)Last edited by mufasa; 08-22-2014, 10:19 AM.

So from October 1944 to end war the 361 Flak Abt was forever on the River Senio between Alfonsine, Argenta, Ferrara, inside the Flak Reg. 57.
And the other dramatic photo, I think one of the most famous photo of the Second World War,. We are again on the sky of the Flak Abteilung 361.
This time a B24 Liberator, the "Black Nan", hit the 10 th April 1945. It was started from Puglia for a tactical bombing against German troops dug in Lugo, on Senio River. The plane was hit by a direct 88 shot that broke the wing. The Liberator fell near Medicina. Only one survivor, the radar navigator 1st Lt. Edward F. Walsh.Attached Files

Strangely Albert is not held prisoner in Italy but moved to Egypt (because of his membership in the NSDAP and work from 1931?) ... here it is the synthesis of his war stories and personal would like to do .... the driver to return the captivity (a special thanks to Gerdan for your patience and translations).
Forli, Ancona, Taranto: Egypt....
