End of 1944 - Lw & Km troops pressed into service in Heer

    Hello

It’s commonly said that during the Battle of the bulge / Rhineland / Netherland / Alsace many Volksgrenadier divisions were filled with former Luftwaffe ground troops and Kriegesmarine sailors that were pressed into service in the Heer

Do you have such Wehrpass or Soldbuch ?

    Thanks

It was common on all fronts and with all units from the standard infantry units to elite units such as Grossdeutschland. I have 2 Luftwaffe related ones (unt pages shown here) shown here that were transferred over and I also have one to a sailor who was transferred to a Hetzer unit.

Would you like to see the reverse? I have an example of a Heer soldier pressed into a Luftwaffe unit.

his birth date is discolored and unreadable in the Soldbuch but we can read it in his POW discharge certificate: 21.1.1927
