Hi,
Found this Kriegsmarine Wehrstammbuch and Wehrpass today at the militaria fair in Duiven, NL.
It's a very basic set, really nothing spectaculair, but for me interesting because the man was stationed with the 6. Ersatz Marine Artillerie Abteilung and I collect documents concerning this unit.
So I'm very happy that I found this set today.
The man joined this unit on 16.10.1940. This is listed in the Wehrpass and in the Wehrstammbuch. It's the only unit listed in both books.
What wonders me is the following:
He followed a Signalgasten Lehrgang from 3.12.1940 till 27.2.1941, a Steuermannsmaaten Lehrgang from 7.4.1943 till 6.7.1943 and a Obersteuermannsmaaten Lehrgang from 7.7.1944 till 6.12.44. He followed this last training at the Navigationsschule in Gotenhafen.
Because he received these trainings I assume that the he was active troughout the war.
So why aren't there more units mentioned in the Wehrpass or Wehrstammbuch? What could be an explanation?
Kind regards, Bjorn
