    Soldbuch help

I bought this soldbuch last week, and I have a question about it.
When a soldier got wounded or ill, I say they bring him to the nearest lazarett.
But the man in my soldbuch saw action with 2. AR 48 part of the 12 ID and got wounded by accident or self mutilation and was brought to Reserve-Kriegs-Lazarett 's Hertogenbosch (in Holland). He lay there from 6-5-1941 till 12-8-1941.
At this time his division was not in Holland but in France, so why was he brought to Holland?
    Any help would be great.

    Regards

    Henry

The Laz. listed is not necessarily the first place he was sent.

            Hi Henry and Jeff !

As Jeff pointed out, he could have been sent there from somewhere else, but I think this statement is is simply not correct :
He lay there from 6-5-1941 till 12-8-1941.
At this time his division was not in Holland but in France, so why was he brought to Holland?
            12. Inf.Div. was based in locations East, SE and South of Rotterdam, probably from September 1940 onward.
On a map dated December 20, 1940 it is shown there, with the Div. HQ at Dordrecht under V. AK.
[Info based on entries and a map in Mehner, Die Geheimen Tagesberichte]

Also the Lexicon page of Inf.Rgt. 48 states, that the Rgt. was transferred to the Netherlands :
            http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/...ter/IR48-R.htm

If you have a look at the following page (there at the very bottom), you find men of Art.Rgt. 12 who died by accidents
at places like Leerdam, Tilburg, Rosendaal and so on in 1940/41, all in that area, all not to far from 's Hertogenbosch.

In May 1941, the division was transferred to the East.

            Cheers,

            Archi
