This is the perfect dream for a paper collector, you have everything to make a research, Soldbuch, Wehrpass, citations, medal, extra documents and, maybe, photos, plus a well known unit that is fully documented so you will enjoy hours of research and you can match all the entries in Soldbuch and Wehrpass, identifiicate signatures and even found first hand account of the actions in which he took part.
Keep us updated about this group and enjoy it.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.
In #1 Barth is the repeated signature. #4 has von Daniels-Spangenberg and Schulz-Balluff. The docs with von Fallois are obvious, he NEVER signed his name "von Born Fallois" as the "Born" was never actually a part of his name. Long story.

The hat is most probably made from Italian cloth (down in Italy or Northern Africa). When I got it the scull was missing, but you could see exactly where it was placed and I replaced it, but the original scull head is still somewhere so I may get it as well....

I agree 100% with my friend Curtiss. This is one heck of a grouping that just keeps getting better and better! Hands down one of the best groupings I have ever seen posted here in the SB/WP forum. Again, congrats on scoring this one
..thanks and over the week end I have put together a mannequin very similar to my grouping including his original field hat...displaying how he looked
during the battle in Normandy
