I have a question regarding a type of Erkennungsmarke I have never seen before.
Did these exist and if so, were they used generally or only for some units?
Does any one have a comment on this one?

better photos please! or at least complete info off the tag...

Is it steel, zinc or AL.? can the stampings be seen coming thru on the reverse? From the photo it almost looks like it somehow was done on a US dog tag machine , G.
