Baukolonne: Construction Column

TMOT = teilmotorisiert = partially motorised

I would imagine this unit would be in charge of transporting construction units around. Please, someone correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not entirely sure what their daily responsibilities would consist of. I think I am safe in saying that these were not combat units, though I imagine men were routinely recruited from these units to fill in the ranks when needed.

I also imagine these men would be responsible for the building of various static defense systems (bunkers, trenches, emplacements etc.) and for ensuring rail networks and roads/bridges/power is working alright.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge of Bau Bataillons can give us some more insight.
