ID disc help

Hello!

Got this cleaned ID-disc via an auction. Is anybody out there, who can tell me the unit (via pm maybe)? And the most important of all questions: is this disc a good or bad one in your opinion? Sorry, had to cover the Stammrollennr. and blood group here.

Don´t worry if you give me a ....the price was not that high!

PS.: I need to buy a reference book for ID´s in future .. is there something in that area on the market available?

Hi Gerd,

Only a few people have Luftwaffe code lists- Jean Yves Nasse here in the Fallschirmjäger Forum is one of them, and there are a couple of others on the Militaria Fundforum- one of whom has Luftwaffe flying unit codes.

Unfortunately, there is no reference book containing this information, however there is a good reference on Erkennungsmarken in general: Jean Höidal's Erkennungsmarken des zweiten Weltkrieges published by Verlag Klaus D. Patzwall http://www.patzwall.de/index_de.shtml The website www.emarken.de is also worth checking out- there are a lot of good example discs posted there.

As for the authenticity of your new disc- that's really hard to say with coded discs. However, the style of the numbers look fine to me and I see nothing that would make me worry. I'd have bid on it
