Congratulations on owning such a great piece of history with words from the original owner of the Soldbuch. A dream for all of us document collectors. Thanks a lot for sharing, this thread has been very exciting to read!

Thank you Guys for your good Opinion about this Thread. I have meanwhile received a written Answer from the German Bunderarchiv. It seems the "Rgts-Tagebuch" from the V.G.R. 1127 has been lost, anyway not in the Archives-Funds. Sad, because it was my only Hope to know if the date mentionned for the Tank Kill is the Award Date or the Action Date, and eventually compare the Veteran's remembrance and the Facts, with exact Place.... But I will keep an Eye always opened, and, who knows, perhaps discover it within the coming months or Years. Thanks all ! Lionel.

FANTASTIC photo ! For sure pics from the plane were taken on Aulnat airport (from the south to the north with civilian station on background). Pics of the wooden barracks are probably taken in Aulnat to but all this barracks are more less the same.... FFS C7 was leading by Oberst Cornélius "Conny" Edzard, a important civilan pilote before the war (world record in 1927 with 52 hours of flight) and a boss of FW facktory after death of Geerg Wulf). In 1944 he was Fliegerhorstkommandeur in the same time (FHK E42/IV) in the same time (I dont know why because normal Kommandeur was Oberstleutnant Fritz Gröning.... But I found some document in local archive signed by Edzard as FHK Kommandeur). This officer was a war criminal. He did lot operation with SD around Clermont Fd : University of Strasbourg, attack of Lesspinasse etc. He was very close to SS-Hauptsturmführer Geissler (Sipo-Sd Vichy) and was ok to autorise member of Clermont Fd SD to utilise bombe holes inside the airport (did after the RAF attack) to put some french resistant killed by SD... In 1945, the local service of wae criminal was looking for him.... In automn 1944n the french SD member George Mathieu talk about him when he was face to french police. He give the name of ELZATZ and not EDZARD and it is why in moste of the books about the area it is the wrong name.
              Sorry for my bad english.

Hi Chris ! Happy you love them... I was quite sure you didn't see the Pic before !! Thanks for the informations. Concerning the nickname "Conny", I am quite surprised because this nickname his nowadays more used for Women, for the surname "Cornelia", didn't know it was possible for a male.
