    Prinz Eugen Soldbuch

I've had this Soldbuch for a long time but have never figured out his last name. If you guys have some opinions, let me know. He died in a Field Hospital on 2 May 1945.

I read EGS Groß-Betschkerek so I would say a volksdeutscher from serbian or rumenian Banat.

I know it's hard to read. It's very faded. Top line: Waffen SS Prinz Eugen Second line:12 Geb. Jag. Rgt. 2 No.69

Difficult name...even the Germans could not read it

                Endgrablage: Block 13 Grab 59

                Nachname: Kolovrad
                Vorname: Heinrich
                Dienstgrad: Unterscharführer
                Geburtsdatum: 07.12.1913
                Todes-/Vermisstendatum: 02.05.1945

                    Jeff-

That's a great example of a Prinz Eugen Soldbuch! I really like that you can see the unique collar tab and of course the fact that he's wearing an overseas cap in the portrait photo (technically against regulations!) A really great Soldbuch with some nice combat awards no less! Thanks for sharing it with us

Thanks everyone. I thought the name was Kolovrat. Ian, I had tried just using the first four letters of his name in the German War Graves site and it never came up. I must have been doing something wrong. Now I know where he is buried. Rob, in your favorite Soldbuch, he's wearing cover also. Kind of a SS thing.

                        Jeff

There are a lot of mistakes on the volksbund that have to be discovered. Even after almost 70 years. Believe me. I already experienced that

                        Regards

                          Jeff,

Do you have the date when he was wounded please?
Please also post the Lazarett page, we can sort out some locations about his place of death.
