Hi guys,

Can someone please explain to me what this card is? Is it preliminary membership to the NSDAP? I've no idea about the process of joining the Nazi Party, so an explanation would be really helpful. And why were stamps stuck inside?

The applicant was a master optometrist, so I'm guessing membership would be helpful in his career. The fact that he still possessed this card suggests that he never did gain full membership of the NSDAP ("Issue of the membership card of the Party leadership will occur with the return of this ID card.).

It is a provisional certificate for the NSDAP membership. The official membership is still to be checked.

Thanks Gerdan. Any idea about the stamps? Perhaps they were for monthly membership fees?
