Soldbuch 11 Pzr Division Kursk?

    Soldbuch 11 Pzr Division Kursk?

    Okay I have only just started having an interest in Soldbuchs. This one from my limited understanding I believe is to a soldier in the 111 Pzr Gr Rgt. This unit was part of the 11 Pz Division and was involved in fighting on the central front around Orel, Kursk late 42 and 43. Am I correct. Also 2 pages have been added ie 21, 22, 23, 24. The original ones are full of entries would this have been done in lieu of starting another soldbuch? The dates on the added pages follow on from the original and the stamps show feldpost numbers that correspond to the unit. A blank page has been stuck in at the end with an EK2 award entry. I guess I want to know if this book is all good or played with. If all good is this a desireable example of a combat soldiers Soldbuch/

    Here is one of the extra pages, p21 has the Kursk entry, what does this relate to, p22 has been used to show awards.

      Rudolph Döll - born January 18, 1909

      His last rank promoted July 1944 is Panzer-Vorhandwerker = leading craftsman, armoured vehicle repair shop

      For awards I see

      Bulgarian soldier's cross 2nd class

      Vehicle driver badge (Kraftfahrbewahrungsabzeichen) in bronze and silver

      Wound badge in black

      In 1943 he served in 5th coy of Panzergrenadier-Regiment 111 - In July 1944 he was with 1. Marsch-Kompanie, Panzergrenadier Ersatz Batl. 110

        Soldbuch query

        the blank page added at end, taped to another added page, is the EK award entry dated 1.1.44. legit. Was is usual for extra pages to be inserted. Any information on my queries will be appreciated.

          The entry appears a bit wonky but the stamp is correct.

          Can you make a large scan of his photo - it looks like he is wearing a ribbon bar!

                A complete Heer Soldbuch should have pages 21-22 and 23-24. Are you saying yours has two sets of 21-22 and 23-34?

                  Robert, on the photo I can see Iron Cross II, Ostmedaille and Bulgarian award.

                  That confirms that he received the EK II -

                  No mentioning of the Ostmedaille in the Soldbuch - but according to his service he clearly met the qualifications.

                  Added pages? If you are referring to the page with the EK II entry - I see that often

                    thanks for that . If he has the EK2 then obviously award is correct on the page added on. So the double pages 21 22 23 24 are correct. The second lot all carry on in date from the original ones. The second ones have been inserted but not taped . To illustrate what I mean here I have the first original ones . You will note on one of the photographs page 21 the insert is next to page 24 original.

                      Here are the inserted page 23 24 not duplicates rather they carry on in chronological order from the original pages. Is it normal or usual to do this when a Soldbuch has full pages. So this Soldbuch then has 2 x p21 22 23 and 24. I hope I am making my query clear. The second page 22 has all his awards which the owner is wearing on the Soldbuch cover photograph so it seems correct.

                        From what I can see, everything looks correct. It wasn't until July 1940, that the military required the awards to be listed on page 22 in the Soldbuch. Prior to this they entered many other things, like in your original page 22. Therefore, one pften sees extra pages added for awards.
