Would there be any definitive way to tell if a soldier would have been part of the mobilized reserve troops who arrested SS members? Is there a list of reserve batallions that took part in the actions following the order going out?

I'm not aware of a list....there is a book on the Reserve Army which I have in .pdf format somewhere that might go down the route of explaining this.

Again not sure if all Walküre-Einheit were emobilised however I would say if it was a Walküre unit then it took part in some form of readiness.

I have heard that the grossdeutchland was somewhat involved but can't find anything to confirm it. Just thinking about it now there may be a way to trace one unit. Major Remmer had the head SS building surrounded ill have to track down which unit he was in charge of though.

I have taken it upon myself(since a list isn't readily available) to put together a descriptive run down of all the districts and the parts they played. In saying that if you have any expanded knowledge of units being in districts on the 20th of July please send me a pm. I will post the link after i have completed the list to help other members!

If it's Otto Ernst REMER You mean... He was commander of "Wachregiment Großdeutschland" at that time.
