    Soldbuch

    Soldbuch that belonged to Capt. Wilh. Waetzmann. I believe he was at Stalag 346. I would like any help as to what is in this soldbuch. Thanks very much for your time. Ralph. Also what kind of camp was Stalag 346.

          It looks like he served at the POW camp and later in a convalescent Kompanie of a Landesschuetzen training unit before being discharged from the Wehrmacht in 1943. He had some awards from WWI service and was awarded the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords in WWII.

              Was awarded the Ostmedaille
              Wore glasses
              Received certificates enabling a pair of boots to be re-soled
              Moved from his original Kreis/Gebiet
              Was 158 cm tall (roughly 5 feet 2 inches) tall, gray haired, and "Kraeftig"; in other words, he was short, thick, and getting old.
