    Wehrpass wit Fuhrerstaffel Entry

    Yesterday I bought a Wehrpass.

It's a second issue Wehrpass, with a very rare entry:

    Kdr. Fuhrerstaffel 8 Russland

This man was a Major througout the war. What would be his taks within this unit? Is it rare that a wehrmacht Major was placed in a Luftwaffe unit?

Who can tell me more about it?

    All reactions are welcome

Keller spent the war carrying out administrative duites. His assignments were with various units in France, then Russia and back to France involved with armaments reclamation and production in those locations. About mid-war he did time back in Germany with the OKW armaments office.

Cross assignments such as Keller's between the branches of service for various periods of time did occur not infreqently during the war. The Wehrpass photo is a nice one.

            Hello Edwar

Thank you for the information, however administration, I am very pleased with this pass.

I also have his WW1 papers, which makes the set more attractive.

            Best!

Yes, that is a nice Wehrpass Necker. Who did he served with during WWI?

In WW1 he served with Infanterie Regiment 70, throughout the whole war. In 1915 he received the EK2

Thanks for the WWI information. Not too many made it through the entire war with the same regiment.

Another thing is his birth date. He was born in 1881. Then called up in 1939 and still serving in uniform well into 1944 at age 63!
