    Gentlemen

Here is an interesting collection of documents to Wilhelm Eichmann

Is it possible to tell what he became during WW2?

    Many thanks

He was a WWI vet that was probably a reservist and never called up. Though he's declared fit (tauglich) in 1937 hes classified as Landwher I, ie homeland duty. Interestingly in 1943 his fitness status is raised to 'kreigsverwendungsfahig', ie fit for active duty though his rating is still the same.

            ..

His awards are the WW1 EK2, WW1 would badge in black and Ehrenkreuz fur Frontkampfer, commonly referred to as the Hindenburg Cross for service in WW1.

In ww1 he was ill in a field hospital from 29.5. - 7.6.1915

13.7.1915 he was wounded by an artillery shell and after field hospital he was brought to a

              hospital in Vélu (France):

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A9lu

24.9.1916 he was wounded again by an artillery shell (left Hand). It must have happened at the

battle of the Somme because he participated in the battle of the Somme the date he was wounded.
