    My Wehrpassen collection II

    This WP belonged to Major Karl Herling. Born in 1897 he served during both World Wars, but was KIA in 1944.

    Karl Otto Herling married in 1927, and following his death, left behind one child.

      During the course of WWII he served in France and Russia with Army Group Middle.

        He was awarded the EKII in 1918 (the spange in 1940), EKI, Eastern Front Medal and wound badge in silver. Promoted to Hauptmann d.R. in 1942.

            He was died on 28.10.1944 as a result of wounds sustained on 17.8.1944, for which he was awarded the wound badge in silver.

              This WP belonged to Heinrich Schlapp. He was KIA on 28.7.1944.

                He served with numerous I.R. from 1940 until his death in 1944.

                  Promoted to Obergefreiter on 1.3.1943 he was awarded the IAB, EKII and Ostmedaille.

                    He fought throughout France and Russia, being involved in battles such as Kursk, before finally falling in Berezorka.
