Soldbuch Marine Bergungskommando Nld

I want to show you a recent purchase.
It's a Soldbuch to a member of the Marine-Bergunskommando Niederlande. It was issued to a Ober-Bootsmannsmaat (later Feldwebel der Reserve) on the 1st of February 1945 as a Zweitschrift.
It has some interesting entries and came with a surprise: there were two Verleihungsurkunden in the Soldbuch.

I have some questions regarding this Soldbuch:

- what kind of unit is mentioned on the EK2 award doc.?
- which unit did he serve in after May 1945?
- can anyone provide more information on the Marine Bergungsgruppe Niederlande? What kind of unit was this?

Hi Bjorn,

I will copy the thread there rather than moving it.

I recently saw this but forget where.....I had an interest in it but forgot due to being very busy.

The unit on the EK II is 2 Kompanie, I Abteilung, 1 Flotten Stamm Regiment.

You will need to do some more reseach here as the unit was involved in the defence against the allied air landings at Arnhem and was on the outskirts of Arnhem/Oosterbeek.

Incidentally the EK II is signed by Generalleutnant Hans von Tettau, holder of the RK + EL.
He commanded Kampfgruppe "Von Tettau" during Arnhem!

The unit as far as the citation goes is Ausb.Stab.W.B.N - Ausbildungs Stab Wehrmacht Befehlshaber Niederlande.
