In view of his career, it seems likely he gets the diploma!
The unit says "Segelflug Aufstellungsgruppe" (group of gliders). It remains consistent with his personal history.
From November 44, it seems that the upright Brigade Oberrhein (II. / LW Brigade Oberrhein)
This group is a ground unit who fights in the Haut-Rhin.

It is quite possible that he is a prisoner of war by the French (who are fighting in this area), not long after his stay in Strasbourg, because it is released from captivity on 08.06.1947 French!
