Hello Gentlemen,
I got this nice Wehrpass of Feldwebel Gustav Thebes today serving with Kampfgeschwader 30 and Nachtjagdgeschwader 2.
I am asking for further information about his time at the Nachtjagdgeschwader 2. He flew 43 missions as Bordschütze and were they able to claim any aerial victories? I found out that he most likely flew with a Ju88 under the command of Oberleutnant Simmendinger. Is there any information on the loss of the plane? The Wehrpass says "Gefallen im Luftkampf am 31.12.1944 near Metelen (area between Dutch and German border).
I think the 4 missions during Februar 1944 are also worth to mention (the so called "Baby Blitz"). Due to my information they must have been based at Eindhoven during those days and flew combat missions against London.
Also to mention that he received both Iron Crosses in July 1943 (even before the Frontflugspange in Bronce). Does anybody has information on his unit (9./KG30) during that period of time?
