My favorite acquisition of 2012:
Soldbuch, photo album and post-war driver licence to a Stug soldier.
I showed this soldbuch before in the panzer soldbuch thread.
He was in Sturmgeschütz-Abt. 191 from the beginning and later on went to Sturmgeschütz-Abt. 259.
Last rank was Stabswachtmeister. Highest medal the EKI.
The album shows many Stug photo's.Attached FilesI'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.

Rob,
Yes, post 14 is the only one that counts.....you can tell who'se daughter she is and she has your dress sense as well
Perhaps this is a new line of collecting? I have three children
I can not even remember what I have bought this year let alone had the time to research......perhaps in the new year I can add to this thread on collection wise.......
Cheers!

Tell me about it I don't have the free time to visit the forums much anymore, never mind find a few hours to preform any solid research. Maybe someday!
Best,

2012 was a quite a good year for me. Thanks to some very good friends i was able to get some nice very items. So a big thanks to them. I was able to finish my research about a Wehrpass i have and with a very good friend we arranged our first exhibition this year.
I have been able to add some nice Soldbucher and Wehrpasser to my collection but here are three of the highlights. I'm not posting full size pictures because i'm still researching them, sorry.
First a soldbuch group from a Dutch SS volunteer who served in the SS Westland Regiment from the beginning of the war till the end. He earned the following medals:
Infanterie SturmAbzeichen in Bronze
Winterschlacht im Osten
Kriegsverdienste Kreuz II Klasse mit Schwerten
Eiseren Kreuze II Klasse
Verwundeten Abzeichen in Schwarz
Verwundeten Abzeichen in Silber
Verwundeten Abzeichen in Gold
All the documents regarding his wound badges did come with the group.

Thanks to a very good friend i got a soldbuch group from a soldier who fought with ss StuG Abteilung 5 and ss Pz. Jg. Abt 5. A big thanks to him. The soldbuch came with his wound badge in black document, some documents regarding his PAB in Silver award and promotions. It's fitts nicely with the Westland group. I'm almost sure that the name from Untersturmfuhrer Hans Havik is written in the soldbuch. For me as a Dutchman this is a big extra, because Hans Havik was next to Gerardus Mooyman, Casper Sporck and Derk Eelko Bruins one of the Dutch Ritterkreuztragers.
He earned the following medals:
Verwundeten Abzeichen in Schwarz
Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber
Eiseren Kreuz II Klasse
