    Interesting Grouping

A few scans from an interesting wehrpass group I picked up a few months back I thought you all might like to see...in no particular order I'm afraid.

            Yes Gary,

A very interesting group to a "Sani" Brandenburger!!!
Exceptionally well filled in....just how I like Wehrpässen!!

            Look after it

Very nice group Gary. Was that interpreter training he underwent in December 1944?

              Cheers
              Ian

                    Hello Gary T,

Thanks for sharing the scans. First Eric's excellent Fj group and now your outstanding Brandenburger... You guys have definitly posted two of the best groups I have seen in awhile...excellent stuff... Interesting in that he was serving in Italy in late 1944 which is the same time as the Brandenburger WP I have. When are you going to update your WP site?

                    Regards

Gary, can you find the same Lehr-Regiment Brandenburg stamp on award papers in the Wehrpaß? I only see a different one, maybe on other pages.

                        Hi Akira,

There are no other Brandenburg stamps in the WP apart from the one authorising the promotion on 01.03.1945 adn obviously the ones on page 12. The awards on page 23 (the Kuban Schild entry is overleaf - I haven't scanned it) have been authorised by Res. Laz. Regensburg as has the discharge page on 9th May 1945. Going by the use of the Fp Nr for the award entries and similarly for the out of synch wound entries I would say the WP was updated at very end of the war probably from a soldbuch. The promotions however appear to have been filled at the relevant time.

Do the stamps cause you concern? The one on the Kuban Schild entry is different ot the Inf. St. Abz and Verw. i. Schw.

His full entitlement of awards was:

                        EKII
                        Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber
                        Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Schwarz
                        Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Silber
                        Verwundeten-Abzeichen in Gold
                        SA Sportsabzeichen
                        Kuban-Schild

                        Cheers,
                        Gary.

                          Hi Edward,

What unit is your Brandenburg WP? Fancy showing some scans? I'm sure we'd all like to see them.

Er, WP site...well I have written a new one (apart from the guide part which I'm working on). I have a few problems with the host at the moment as the database has stopped working (the collection part is now fully searchable on surname, rank, wehrkreis, wehrbezirks, award, campaign, unit etc). The host are trying to claim it's my code - which it's not. I know how to fix it on the server side but they seem reluctant to take my advice

                          Cheers,
                          Gary.

                              Nice group!
Any particular reason why no name is shown?

                              Kind regards,
