    Driving License (Wehrmacht-Führerschein)

    Hello gents,

Yesterday, I received my first Führerschein to add to my collection (along with a soldbuch and some photos from the same person). The only noteworthy about it is that there's no picture from the holder nor any stamps on that particular page (third page where the picture should be attached). Did anyone ever encounter this? All other pages are filled in for the class 2 driving license.

Next to this, can someone give me the units that were attached to these field post numbers please? These numbers are also used in the driving license:

    Dienststelle Feldpost nr. 18860
Dienststelle Feldpost nr. 07572 (May 1943)

    Thank you for the effort!

Not uncommon for the license not to have a photo...it does actually say to be used in conjunctin with the Soldbuch!
Off the top of my head I can not remember the dates when they were removed....early ones have photos......
May or may not be related to the addition of a photo in the Soldbuch ...this started mid to late 1943.

    Dienststelle Feldpost nr. 18860
    2 Batterie, Nebel-Abteilung 1, renamed 1.10.1939 to 2 Batterie, Nebelwerfer-Abteilung 1
    27.3.1941 became 2 Batterie, Nebelwerfer-Regiment 54, 15.4.1942 renamed to 2 Batterie, Werfer-Regiment 54.

Dienststelle Feldpost nr. 07572 (May 1943)
    Stab I Werfer-Rgt.54

      Hi

I have a good collection of fuhrerscheins and as Ian has said some of the mid-war ones don't have photos. Is your fuhrerschein military or civilian. All my civilian fuhrerscheins have photos

        @ Ian:
Thank you for the explanation of the numbers. As for the photo, you are probably right because my Führerschein is signed May 1st, 1943 and the paper does not show any holes from a removed photo (and no stamps either). The Soldbuch on the other hand does contain a photo of the recipient.
You mentioned 2.Btr/Werfer-Rgt 54 using field post number 18860 from 15.4.1942 onward. May I assume this was the case for the rest of the war?

        @ Larrister:
Thank you for the input. However, I will immediately add that this is my first Führerschein and I am not familiar between military and civilian ones. Since it mentions 'Wehrmacht-Führerschein' on the first page, I assume it is military. While browsing this forum, it seems there are four types of the Führerschein. I would really like to know or read more about these types.

        Thanks once again
