Nothing wrong with it, I think.
    Just an original waterdamaged Wehrpaß

      Thanks

Yep it looks a little worn, but not too bad overall I should think, considering.

        Hello Dallas,

Just being picky here, but the item as I'm sure your aware is a Wehrpass...not a Soldbuch. XX WP's do not grow on trees, but this particular XX WP with entries is probably the most common and readily avaiable variety you will find. Regardless, if you buy it and are happy that's what's important. I have not purchased items from this dealer, but there reputation is rated highly among collectors on the forum so originality should not be a problem. The overall condition is not the worst I have seen, but it's not that good either. Also, from the description the holder was inducted into the WXX mid-war and spent not a small amount of time with training units. Ask the seller if he can provide you with a scan of the page that shows the units the holder served with after training. Imo, the price is a fair one, but are you looking to buy it as a representative filler piece with maybe upgrading later?

        Regards

I cannot believe I put down Soldbuch when it was a Wehrpass. Yes I was interested in a representative sample and may upgrade it later. I'm particularly interested in the fact it has training on a G33/40. I guess it is really in average or so condition.

He's not lised on the German War Graves site....however that would indicate a known grave....if he has an unknown grave or is missing in action he still may not be listed on the site.

What units did he serve with? One thing that could be a downer on this is the condition......

Very much like one I had some years ago that I have just seen crop up again at 3 time the price I had it!!!

Thanks Ian. Peter confirmed he was with the 2./SS Nachrichten Ausb U. Ers Abt. 3. I suspect this fed the parent unit 2./SS Nachricten Abt 3 which would have been part of the 3-SS Totenkopf division. According to the description though it says "Other unit entries indicate the individual served in three other Signals units with his last posting being on, "2. 2. 45"." I asked if Pete could elaborate on that.

I can't tell much more about the condition than what's been stated and the obvious staining on the photo and opposing page. What do you think?
