How many Soldbuch/Wehrpasses do you have?

Hello to all,

The number of documents in a collection is not the most important thing. According to its centers of interests, it is better to privilege the quality according to the quantity. From my part, I buy fewer documents than previously. With years and the experience of the collection, I became more difficult, more restrictive in my purchases. I also collect the diplomas of attributions of the decorations and for some time the cloth badges.

Quality over quantity and collect what makes you happy. It doesn't matter if you have one ID or one thousand; a Wehrpass to a Gefreiter with no awards or a Soldbuch to a Field Marshal; a single award document or a complete SB/WP and award document grouping; whether you keep your collection in a safe or a shoe box... as long as you appreciate and enjoy what you have, well... that's all that truly matters

Rob and Polux, I fully agree with you, it is not the quantity but the quality that counts. A Wehrpaß in excellent condition with only general entries is not of interest and I prefer to have a tattered Soldbuch with many entries than one in pristine condition. If the dogtag is also there as well as documents and maybe photos (and in some cases uniform!), that is still better in my opinion.
Polux hit the nail on the head when he mentions that he becomes more critical as time goes on and that is the case with most collectors who have been around for a while.

I'm happy with what i have That counts for me. I don't have the need and testosteron to be the greatest collector all time with the most and rarest soldbucher ever seen.

I don't think anybody here has said (or written) "more is better".

It was just a simple question: how many do you have?

I'm with the various statements that basically state "I have X, and they make me happy". Much like my 5 or 6....they came in groupings, they're nothing special really (no KC, no TDB, no SS, etc), but I'm satisfied with 'em.

That sounds great I collect mostly MG34 and Panzer items, that's why I haven't got a single Wehrpass

In comparison to some of the 'big hitters' listed already with some serious collections under their belt, my humble collections pales in comparison however, I am pleased with what I have amassed so far as I have only been collecting Luftwaffe documents for around 3 years now.

Currently I have only 4 Luftwaffe Soldbucher, 5 Luftwaffe Wehrpassen and around 50 award citations. These are however spread over 20 (ish) document groupings which include a Luftwaffe Jagdflieger RKT Soldbuch grouping, a DKiG & EP Aufklarungsflieger grouping, an EP grouping for a KG40 fliegerschutzen and a host of other 'lower end' awardees involved throughout WWII.

The main thing is that I enjoy the research of these items greatly and I am always on the look out for more of the same!
