The one he received on 26.8.42 is the "Italienische Tapferkeitsmed. in Bronze" an italian medal for bravery.

It pays to be persistent! Great grouping! Have you viewed the death registration at Standesamt Brakal? Sometimes they list the unit the soldier was with when he died.
