    Wehrpass with other papers.

    Hello guys,
I need please some help with this wehrpass lot.
the wehrpass was established in 1939. but there is no other entries exept in the first two pages. So I don't know what this guy did during the war. it comes with other papers, but I have no idea what it is. it seems to be Volkssturm papers.
Does anyone can please help me with the translation and to know what are these papers.
    thanks a lot. best regards.

All the papers accompanying the Wehrpass essentially state that Erich Mauritz was too important for the German War effort at home to be called to arms and send to the front.

So to answer your question what this guy did during the war; He made himself indispensible at home to avoid going through hell at the front.

In his Wehrpass his occupation is given as Businessman and Buyer. Don't see how this would make him indispensible.

Reminds me a bit of the CCR song "Fortuante Son"

Your guy worked for the company "Robert Melchers Aktiengesellschaft, Berlin N 31, Wattstrasse 11/12".

Formerly the company was owned by a Jewish owner and the name was "Hermann Meyer &

Co". But Meyer was exproprieated by the NS and the company changed it's name.

The company produced or were selling wine, spirits made from fruits, and food.

I found some more information dealing with his company (sorry written in German):

Hi guys,
thanks a lot for you help.
I can't figure how a wine dealer can be so important to the point that he has not been sent to the front or at least enlist in the army.
          best regards.

Like naxos has said great parallels with that CCR song. Strong indications he was a partyman especially if his fitness rating was tauglich and then KV
