The security check 13.6.1943 appears to be Sturmgeschütz Abteilung 189, 1.12.1943 he appears to be in a hospital and then on in replacement units (Ersatz)...which I can not make out the number....Gren.Ers.Btl.195?

Clothing and equipment pages might give you a clues as well (6-7 & 8), also pay (18-21), awards (22) and the leave pages (23-24)...these should record units, if they are still present!!!!.....in fact most pages will have a unit stamp!

Infanterie-Ersatz-Bataillon 195 was stationed in Konstanz and supplied reserves for 78 Sturm Division.
      Sturmgeschütz Abteilung 189 was also during 1943 part of 78. Sturm-Division .

          missing pages

missing pages are common, usually when captured the authoriteis removed them as proof the soldier was in the area if war crimes are found to have been commited at a later date. regards phil

Thanks Philip but these soldiers were all Slovenian nationality and as I know they remove themself all these pages from soldbuchs and wherpases because they were so scared when returning home from captivity.Germans have only one enemy to be afraid Slovenians had two-their captors and new authoritys when they return home.So almost all Documents at my possesion from Slovenian guys are ruined and allways missing same pages.Guess why. They just dont want to show where they fight and what kind of orders they become. And this way only story they tell to authoritys was accepted or not.
