Well, I was going to report back about the bad lot of tags I had gotten. I posted about them right here. I contacted Peter about them. He did remember me, though I had not purchased from him in a long time. Although I had gotten the tags from him years before he began the "lifetime of authenticity" treatment he gives to items off of his site, he did HONOR THE SALE! Peter gave me store credit equivalent to the price of what I paid for the tags! This was a sum. Now that is a Great, Honest Dealer! I was able to get a few "valid" tags (Thanks again Matt!), an Anorak (I have a growing Gebirgs collection), Ostfront medal (always nice to have - one of my weaknesses), and a tropical side cap (to go with the Afrika corner of shells, tracks and Pith). Now this is a good thing for all of us! This is an affirmation that we DO have dealers that are honest. I've had the pleasure of purchasing from many of them, especially after coming to this board. I won't mention them all because this one is for Peter! Peter is one of the best!
Finally, this site has been an excellent source of information exchange and honest discourse on our hobby! I don't know how I've missed it for all these years. I've met some very nice and very knowledgeable people. Maybe I will see them in person one day. The people I've purchased from on Estand have been also been very straight with me so far! It's a good place. For me, membership has paid countless times the value of association membership! I'm happy to be a member and you can take that to the bank! Now where are those T-shirts?
