Sturm Btl. OB / africa, Italy fihgts ....

Sometimes ago I had pick up a little lot of an soldier who seen some action "Westfront, africa and italy"

    Infantrie Reg. 519 until 10.01.1942
    Erstaz Btl. until 11.11.1942

    - 8.MG Grenadier Regiment 754
under the 334. Infanterie-Division he saw action in africa / he survieved africa and escape

He lost teh wehrpass and take this second wehrpass.

Why there are no africa battle entrys? This unit was in africa, right?

    - Hafen Kompanie Messina untel the end of 43

With the end of the operation husky and the evacuation of sicily he spend some time with a Nachschubkompanie

    - 25.04.1944 he comes to the Sturm Btl. OB Südwest
He saw very hard fights in the battle of rome / in the albanian mountains near Bracciano / partisane fights in the north of italy

The Lot have the wehrpass, the work book and many photos. Some africa I think, sicily, Landungsboote, battlefields and more.

Unfortunately no more africa battle entrys.

My question.....have someone detail information for the unit in italy?

Here are some pics....wen interessting I can post the omplete lot?!

    Regards Ronnie

          Hi Ronnie,

Grenadier Regiment 754 was definitely in Afriica/Tunisia but if I remember correctly some elements did not arrive until February 1943. With that said it must have been an oversight that his combat was not mentioned.

Not sure if I have the unit history or not.....have had a few SB/WP to the unit in the past but not sure what I still have......just found one I had to GR 754, he arrived in Africa on 21.12.1942.

Not uncommon though to have entries missing, I have one where he has the Kreta cuff title, however again the unit was definitely there but no mention in the Wehrpaß when everything else is mentioned!?!??! Annoying......

That info was taken from a translation/research of one I sold last year......

I have just found two others, the first a Feldkriegsgerichtsrat who was with Stab/334 Inf.Div. arrived on 27.12.1942.
The second a Major with Stab II/Art.Rgt. 334 arrived on 5.1.1943.

              /Ian

                  I have new informations

The 8. MG Kompanie was at the beginning of the operation "Ochsenkopf", also 28.02.1943 at the east of Medjez el Bab in action in the "Korpsgruppe Weber".

at 15.03.1943 under the "Division von Manteuffel" in the north off Tunesien.

Also the soldier was in africa.
