I just acquired a Soldbuch for an Oberleutnant who served with Infanterie Regiment 76 during the Polish Campaign from 1-12 September 1939. On 12 September 1939, he was hit by a shell fragment in the right foot, which was amputated; however, the officer continued to serve until the end of the war. This officer had 19 Nahkampftage (Close Combat Days), 8 of which were in Poland in September 1939. I tried to identify the locations and think I identified most, but wanted to see if the others could be identified:
Polish Campaign of 1939
1.9. - Moslin?
2.9. - Neuenburg (Nowe)
3.9. - Gudno (Kutno?)
4.9. - Mewe (Gniew)
9.9. - Grajewo
10.9. - Jedwakno-Zambrow (Jedwabno-Zambrów)
11.9. - Sassnowiece (Sosnowiec)
12.9. - Alexandrjewo (Andrzejewo)
I am most interested in having the 1.9. and 3.9. locations identified and if anyone sees that I have misidentified any other locations, I would appreciate it if you would correct them.
