26. Panzer Division Soldbuch KIA Sept. 43

Yesterday, I picked up a nice Soldbuch for a young soldier who served with the 2. Kompanie of Panzer-Grenadier Regiment 9 of the 26. Panzer Division. According to the German War Graves website, he was killed on 21 September 1943. Can anyone tell me where Panzer Grenadier Regiment 9 was fighting on 21 September 1943? Also, was the regiment fighting against the Americans or British? Any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. I will post photos of the Soldbuch in a few days.

I can help just to the north and a year later (100 km around rimini and september 1944)... however I think that 9 Panzer Grenadier Regiment was the 21th of september 1943 on the Volturno River more or less as shown on the maps ..

Stormfighter the panzer regiment 9 fought near Battipaglia And Eboli Tobbacco factory then it defended Avellino road i think he died near White Cross Hill or north of this position
i'd see the soldbuch photos (i am researching german KIA's in south italy) and i ask you if you will post photos

Hi Stormfighter i did some researchers and i discovered that 26.Panzer Division fought near Acerno on 21-22th September 1943 against 3th US division (specially 30th US infantry Regiment).
Casualties were high and some Fallschirmjagers fought with 16 and 26. Panzer Division but on 29th september US arrived in avellino... german failed to stopped allied.
