Interesting, I can not find a lot about the unit:

Befehlshaber Schutzzone Slowakei:- 1.4.43-5.9.44 General der Flieger Karl Barlen
Deutscher Befehlshaber Slowakei: 15.9.44-15.3.45 SS Obergruppenführer u. General d. Polizei Hermann Hoefle

In March 1939 after the occupation of Bohemia and Moravia, what was left of the former Czechoslovakia became the independent state of Slovakia under Presdient Josef Tiso.

The Slovakian "War Victory Cross" was awarded in a few classes:

            Grand Cross (Breast Star)
1st Class (Neck order with rays)
2nd Class (Neck order without rays)
3rd Class (Pin back award for left breast)
4th Class (Bronze Cross on a ribbon)
5th-7th class (all Medals on a ribbon)

So your guy had the 4th Class in the form a of bronze Slovak cross without rays wonr on a ribbon. A device on the ribbon indicated with our without swords.

Below is an image found in this thread on GMIC forum: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/22...-cross-ribbon/

oops...just noticed your guy was awarded the 6th Class which was a Medal rather than Cross.

Can not find a picture of that at the moment.

This would appear to be it on an auction site: http://www.medal-medaille.com/sold/p...49512e4a74a83e

                Interesting Soldbuch.

You might want to take a look at the book "Aufstand in der Tatra. Der Kampf um die Slowakei 1939–44. Athenäum, Königstein/Ts. 1979, ISBN 3-7610-8057-3. by Wolfgang Venohr.

                            Hi all !

While searching for informations on Pz.Div. Tatra, I found this thread.

Maybe the following info is of interest for some of you :
                            https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsc...utzzonenstatut

In 1939, it was agreed that the Germans can control a Schutzzone with military forces
in the most Western part of Slovakia (shaded area in the map). The Eastern border of that zone runs to
a large part parallel to river Waag and an important N-S railway line on its western banks, which the Germans
wanted to keep under control (by Landesschützen units).
The Kommando der Schutzzone Slowakei very likely had the task to control those military forces
                            in the Schutzzone.

                            -----------
Regarding the final question of Leibregiment :
With the uprising in Slovakia in autumn 1944, it might be that there were changes in
                            the organization of command.

I think that at one time, the Kommando der Schutzzone Slowakei turned into what I would read as :
Sperrzone Prinz Eugen, Festungs-Abschnitt Bereich Nord
and that this was perhaps later redesignated into (therefore the strike throughs):
                            Festungs-Abschnitt "Prinz Eugen" Kdt.-Nord (Kommandant-Nord)
(but there are many other designations possible, how that final entry should be read).

At least, I would believe, that the "Prinz Eugen" designates a (subpart)
of a position for which his former unit became a controlling HQ, rather than a unit.
(but that's not a proof of course).

Under FPN 46972, one finds a Festungs-Regimentsstab Kommandant der Schutzzonen-Stellung Slowakei,
entered on 17.4.45, which at least resembles the final entry somehow.

I hope this helps in further research.

                            Best regards,

                            Archi
