The iron cross entries are dated July and August 1944. The Wehrpass was reissued around March 1945 - all his awards were known to the signing Untersturmführer. He would not have missed the most important awards, both classes of the iron cross, in his listing.
Only the promotion to Hauptscharführer was added later, quite obviously since the promotion came three month after the Wehrpass was reissued. The iron crosses however were awarded the previous summer there is no legit reason to add them later.

Karl Peemüller a veteran of the Polish, Lowlands and French campaigns and awarded with the IAB and wound badge was trained after the French campaign to become a Quartermaster NCO. He served at various Army, Corps, Divisional and Regimental supply headquarters until the end of the war. Since there are no more combat entries after 1940 - It is unlikely that he served during 1944 in a position where he could have earned both classes of the iron cross.

But, don't get me wrong - regadless of the above issue - this is a nice original Wehrpass!

The EK II and EK I award entries will need to be verified. According to page 30 he was with Gen. Kdo. I Pz Korps (I SS Pz Korps?) at the time of the two EK awards. Note also from page 30 that no other entries were made showing further front service after May, 1940, to include the 1944 periods for which the EK's were awarded.

This is the seller Martin's take on Karl's career so I'm going to also ask if Martin as a source of verification to resolve the questions, turn all the stones!!!

Zweitschrift Wehrpass to Hauptsturmfuhrer Karl Peemuller,SS VT 1/LAH 138. Born Oct.1917, Volunteered May 1936, at Nordsee X Hamburg for service with the LSSAH, aged 18.
Assigned to the first kompanie at Berlin Lichterfeld, (at this time of 497 applicants to join in Dusseldorf only 7 were accepted!) He swore his oath in Munich on the 9th Nov 1936, which the Fuhrer took in person. The 1st Kompanie were charged with the most prestigeous duties, and were the true bodyguards for Hitler, not just in name, they guarded the Reichskanslei, and all other duties protecting the Fuhrer, the officers from the 1st. Komp included names such as Collani, Mohnke, Wisch, Witt, Streipart to name a few.
Peemuller was weapons trained including m/c gun, Luger, grenades, his wartime service saw action from the start with action in Poland, Rotterdam, Albert canal,Cambrai and crossing the Marne river in France was wounded by a grenade splinter and hospitalized. Following his hospitalization 2 months later after completing an administration course at a Berlin Academy, he was assigned to Gen.Kp. LSSAH presumably due to his wounding, he has two other admin assignments listed in the pass, then SS -?????truppen, 1st June he is assigned to Gen.Kommand I Panzer Korps, Normandy.
Sept `44 he assigned SS Pz Art.rgt 12 Hitler Jugend! And finally in `45 is in SS Pz OK 6, which included the HJ. Peemullers promotion dates April `38 SS-Sturmann, April `39 SS-Rottenfuhrer, Oct `40 SS-Unterscharfuhrer, April `44 SS-Oberscharfuhrer, JUNE `45! Hauptscharfuhrer! Awards are listed , Sudatenland `39, Austria `39, General assault badge and Blackwound badge `40, Prague bar `38 , KVK 2 `44, EK2 and EK 1 `44.

Naxos, what about Karl's posting to the 12 SS Hitlerjugend in 44 certainly this would have been a time when every man and his dog would have been pretty much required to take up arms also a time when tin was not thin too. Could he have been recommended for the awards and presented them after the issue of the Wehrpas thus the later entry's???

            Naxos,
Heres a cracker,,,, whilst every body as been scrutinising the Wehrpass entry's you all missed the blatantly obvious and that is Hauptscharführer Karl Peemüller V/36 ""IS ACTUALLY WEARING THE AWARDS IN THE PHOTOGRAPH"" which as his period signiture running through it. He is 100% the same man as featured in twelve years with Hitler too, needless to say that pretty much ends the debate regarding these awards as they are pinned on ye mans chest!! lol.

No they are not, the button hole is the KVK 2 award ribbon.
The other 2 are flower awards with prague bar.

Am somewhat confused. Would that be the Wehrpaß photo, or a photo from a book? Other than the awards mentioned in the Wehrpaß photo by Leib no EK II, EK I is shown. On another note what is also present is the top portion of his ISA on the left tunic pocket.

Being on a learning curve, I was wrong to think that the KVK 2 ribbon through the button hole was in fact the Iron Cross 2nd class ribbon, a classic case of seeing what you want to see (when youve spent a bundle!! lol),,,,,,,never mind back to square one with these two awards,,,,,,,

                      Last word for now....

Well the last word for now is, Im assured this Wehrpass is direct from the vet's family and has not been added to in any way so for now the trail ends.
I must say I dont hold out much hope of getting any joy from internet such as German archive centers etc not being direct family and especially in light of what happened to "the last of the fallen" Jochen Peiper.

I have put fwd a request though.
