    Coded tag number

    Hello guys,
a good friend of mine recently dug out a dog tag with a coded number that apparently says 210425.
Can anyone help me to id the related unit?
    Many thanks,
    Stefano

Got a couple of pics of the tag from my friend.
Looks like a reworked tag, on one side i read "Stb.III/Lg. ... Lehr. Rgt.4" and the code "210425" on the other side, pretty interesting isn'it?
Any help on the coded unit?
    Many thanks,
    Stefano

            Ciao
Late in the war the name Sturmregiment was held by the FJR12, that was part of the FJD4. This unit fought in Italy from the battle of Anzio-Nettuno (shortly after it was formed) until the surrender in 1945.
Where did your friend find the dogtag?

Ciao Iron, i don't know exactly the place but it should be around Pianoro on the hills right south of Bologna.
I believe there were some paras and mountains troops in the area.
              Best,
              Stefano

The place makes sense to me, as the FJD4 was in that area in Fall-Winter 1944

                  Look at this, Stefano!

It's a dogtag from my collection, it has been already posted in this forum by the previous owner.
Only now I make out that the Mob-nummer is very close!
210426 instead of 210425 My dogtag identifies 5./Sturmregiment.

The most interesting feature is in my opinion the cancelation of the old unit on the backside, that has been done in the same way!

If your friend will feel tired to own that dogtag, just make me know!

And what about the Mob Nummer 210450 ?

Is it from the Sturmregiment (FJR12) too?
A friend of mine found a tag with this code recently in an area held by the Sturmregiment.

Those are both very neat tags with them being used on both sides like that.

                        210450 is 3./Fallschirm Panzerjäger Abteilung 4 (4. Fallschirmjäger-Division)

                            Hello

That is no sign for a Panzerjäger Unit.

                            The Panzerfaust "must have": (20.01.1945)

Fallschirmjäger Division (in an airborne assault): 2700
                            Fallschirmjäger Division (ground assault): 2700

                            Divisional staff: 16
                            Regimental staff: 16

Coys of Infanterie, Artillerie, Panzerjäger, Pionier (Engineer): 36

All other sort of coys: 18

                            Best regards, Fronti
