Here is the Soldbuch of Gefreiter Johann Kalmutzki, a 45-year-old World War I veteran and married laborer from Berlin, who was called to service in July 1944 and assigned to Fliegerhorstkommandantur Staaken (Air Base Command Staaken), based in Berlin-Staaken. Kalmutzki was assigned to the Werftabteilung (Workshop Detachment) of the airbase. During the Battle of Berlin, Kalmutzki was killed in action on 3 May 1945 and was subsequently buried in a cemetery in Berlin-Spandau.
