Interesting set. The demotion and transfer to the Army would explain some of the ID's but its still unusual.

What is nice with the Army Soldbuch, yes he has been demoted but as you say they used a photo from 1941, as a Gefreiter and scribbled out one gull to make him a Flieger

Quite unique I guess. I have something similar but forget what is with it now.....2 x Soldbuch (1 Lw 1 Heer), 1 x Wehrpass and a Wehrstammbuch I think...

Why issue a new Soldbuch and Wehrpass on demotion though? I thought this was only done if you were an Officer?

That is a rare grouping of booklet all to one man.

Seems to me that the man was already a "Wehrpaß - Soldbuch collector himself ........"

          Thanks for showing.

          yours friendly

Very nice grouping you have there!!

Nothing near what you have, but still sort of the same thing.
These two belonged to a KIA gebirgsjäger:

Very interesting. What he should have done that he is demoted...i guess we never know.

According to the German War-Graves site:

                  Vorname:Josef
                  Dienstgrad:Grenadier
                  Geburtsdatum:10.06.1921
                  Geburtsort:Weiden
                  Todes-/Vermisstendatum:01.03.1945
                  Todes-/Vermisstenort: unlisted

Josef Meiler has not yet been transferred to a military cemetery established by the Volksbund.
According to our information, his grave is still at the following location: Pisarzowice Dolne - Poland

Daniele here are a few more scans of the first Soldbuch. I'm going to offer this grouping on the E-Stand but wanted to post the scans here where they will remain. Here is a hospitalization entry for ear problems, also some equipment issues, there is no room for any more.

More leaves, including Kurzurlaub. There are a couple of Merkblaetter in the back, the top one deals with frostbite and cold.

I am only interessted in companies of the Ln. Vers(uchs).R(e)g(imen)t like V/Ln. Vers. Rgt. (mot).
Iknow 5. Zug for companies 18 an 19. My father belonged tio the 23. Kompanie/ 7. Zug
but this makes only sence if 6. Zug includes 20.,21. and 22. companies.
I try to solve this at mititay archiv e in Freiburg Germany.
