Here is a neat grouping from a collection I recently bought. To find a soldier's Wehrpass and Soldbuch together is not so unusual but to have 2 Wehrpaesse and 3 Soldbuecher to the same soldier strikes me as pretty unusual! I plan to sell this but wanted to share it here first. Josef Meiler enlisted in February 1941 and spent most of the war putting up telegraph lines. He served in Lg. Nachr. Rgt. 13, Ln. Rgt. 10, and Luft Nachr. Schule 1, and later in some more unusual units: Ln. Vers. Rgt. (mot.) Berlin, Gefechtskompanie z. b. V. 2, and Luftnachrichten Regiment des Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe. He served for a time in East Prussia and Lithuania but apparently spent most of the war within Germany. In January 1945 he was transferred to the Heer and assigned to Gren. Ers. Btl. 192. While serving in the Heer, he was killed in action in Niederschreibersdorf, Silesia, on 1 April 1945. Here are the scans of the first Wehrpass, issued in 1940.
