A rare bird, directly from the veteran himself

Served 1941-1945 on the east front.

Somehow the the clerk who made the EK1 entry made a mistake, seems as he wrote 1.11.45(!) although the date of award is 1.11.44

That is a really nice Wehrpaß AJ.

He was 17 years old when he volunteered.

From 29.1.42 - 25.4.42 with "Einsatz Kp." of the Germania. Interesting, as I have not seen a front-line ground combat unit with such a designation before in a passbook.

What was his first unit in 1941? Thanks for sharing.

IMHO it looks possible that the last entry was added on the last line, leaving a line above so the stamp was not written over, then the EK1 was crammed in on the second last line at a later date.

The last entry for the Spange 2nd class was maybe more likley made at the end of the war and not in 1944, as it was made by the Abw. Stelle.
