          I will try line A. :

          20. or 26. 1. 45 Kt. 2 2./ Kampf - U.- Gr. Kles ??

Perhaps could mean "Kampf - Unter - Gruppe" and the name og the commander.

              Gabriele,

it is always difficult to identify the commander of the different (in 1945 there have been an

enormous numer of such units) .

                Could it be:

                20. or 26. 1. 45 Kt. 2 2./ Kampf - Marsch. - Gr. Kles ??

They had these Kampf-Marsch-Bataillone - maybe it was something similar.

I think the first part is Rdf. z. - i.e. Radfahr Zug?

I take it he was part of Grenadier Ersatz Batallion 1. See this link where it states 196 men were missing when the battalion was committed to the fighting in East Prussia. 28. Jäger division fought in the same area so I would he was assigned to 14./ Jäger Regiment 83 after this action.

                          Hello Naxos !

                          Wow !
                          Great detective work.

Due to your identification of the correct battlegroup (Btl. Kleres), I found some additional infos on this unit.

Btl. Kleres was part of Kampfgruppe Buescher, and at the beginning of Feb. 1945
subordinated to XXVI. AK (4. Armee), later directly to 4. Armee. It consisted (presumably)
of 2 cos., with a strength of 100 men and 60 men.

The mentioning of the subunits of Btl. Kleres as : Btl. 1 and Btl. 22 for me points to the fact,
that these were raised from Gren.EuA.Btls. 1 and 22, which at that time were located
at Braunsberg (in the same region as XXVI. AK and 28. Jg.Div.).

                          Best regards,

                          Archi

                            Archi, that is awesome information!

I really appreciate your input. I have been researching this unit for a while and your addition makes it much more clear. Thanks.

In March 1945, K.U.Gr. Kleres was incorporated into III./Jg.Rgt.83
