censored KIA entry??

Hello,

this scan is from a wehrpass i picked up last weekend-first i was hopeing someone could help me with the entry itself,I got that he was Killed 1.2.1944 1 KM west of Rowna (Rowno?)the rest i dont understand-also about the black ink,has this entry been censored?i was thinking that someone may have done this postwar but why?also whoever did it put pieces of a blank wehrpass page over the black ink to make it look good,someone peeled off the paper on the bottom,probably a collector trying to see what was underneath!i was guessing that the entry was to revealing (cause of death etc) and got censored?

Killed in action 1 February 1944 1 kilometer west of Rovno (Volhynia-- I forget English spelling), (south sector) at the crossroads on the highway from Rovno to Lutsk.

Looks like an extra page was slapped on a, pardon the expression, dead space and whatever that was (a list of actions? who knows) has come off, but not that it was "concealing" anything.
