    Soldbuch Pz.Radf.Rgt. Fuehrer-Gren.-Div., Sturmgewehr

Here is another Soldbuch from a collection I recently bought that I wanted to share, I also am hoping to get some feedback regarding the value of this book as I am considering selling it, though I would love to keep it- I just can't keep them all. This Soldbuch was issued in 1943 to a recruit who eventually reached the rank of Gefreiter. He served with Infanterie-Lehr-Regiment, also in a Stabskompanie in Grenadier-Btl. Fuehrer Grenadier Brigade, later in Panzergrenadier-Regiment Fuehrer Grenadier Division, finally in Pz.-Radf.-Rgt. F.G.D. There are no wounds or awards entered but there are some other great entries, he was issued a helmet net, also a G43 on February 14 1945, then an Italian machine pistol on February 15 1945, then on March 30 1945 he was issued a Sturmgewehr with a magazine pouch and three magazines. One of the security checks is dated May 3, 1945. I think this is a very interesting book and would welcome any comments.

A nice picture of this young soldier wearing a pre-war tunic that was likely reissued.

First page of weapons issues. He was issued a K98 and later a G43. Also a P38 pistol.

Here is the page with the Sturmgewehr entry, also a close-up of the entry itself. It looks like he was first issued an MP of the type "Itl" which I think was probably an Italian Beretta. He was then issued "1 Sturmgew. 9990, 1 M.-Tasche 3 Magaz."

On hospitalization entry for an illness. Also the security checks, the location for the entry dated May 3 1945 is "O.U." so he must have been at the front at that time.

Last unit page showing the replacement units associated with his GD postings. Also the leave page, he did get one leave in 1945. I presume the war ended before he could receive any awards he might have earned in the last months of the war. I'm having a hard time putting a value on this book, any comments would be appreciated.

All things considered, you know what you paid for it...add $20 (or 30, 40, whatever profit you hope to realize) and go from there. If it doesn't sell for what you want, you'll have to come to terms on whether or not you're willing to take less profit - or even a loss - on it, just to recoup funds.

Hank, I hear what you are saying and in principle I absolutely agree. In this case, I bought a big pile of paperwork for a lot price. There are damaged IDs worth $30 as well as stuff like this and I had to buy them all. I can't afford to keep all of it and so need to recoup some of the cost. I don't want to make any profit, I just want to keep as many of the IDs as I can afford to. The more I can get for the items I sell, the more I will be able to keep. Having said that, I believe that the best way to sell items is to offer them at a fair starting price, and I will always try to pass on a bargain to someone else, when I can. I see the same overpriced IDs sitting on dealer sites for years on end and realize that those prices being asked by some sellers are not reasonable. The guy I bought this from had had it for decades and had paid $30 for it.

Hi Chris. Quite rare late Unit for sure, some nice entries, Book in A+ condition. With "standart" Awards like E.K.II or ISA, I would have estimate it for 600 euros. Without any Awards, it will be bought by anybody only interested in the Unit or eventually the StG Entry. Also note that the Period is not the best for selling.... Then, all considered, if you get between 450 and 500€, I would suggest you to sell at this Price. Best Regards. Lionel.

It is an interesting one with a scarce unit but I would usually have valued it at about 80 - 120 Euro. This is what I would pay for it ... in this case I do understand however that it will probably not be sold to me

                            Nice Soldbuch!
I would say 100-200 max. I wouldn´t pay more for it anyway.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Well Guys.... I am quite surprised by such low estimations.... For 100 - 150 € I would be ready to purchase a wide Quantity of such pieces... even if it is not what I am currently looking for.
