I recently picked up some Soldbuecher from an old collection where they have resided for the past 30 years. I am going to offer some of these on the E-Stand, I will post them here first to share them and also to get opinions on value as these are outside my normal paperwork collecting interest and I am not sure how to price them.
This first book is for an Unteroffizier, it is a replacement book that apparently was issued after a period spent convalescing from a shrapnel wound in September 1944. It looks like he was wounded bad enough to be sent home, the book notes he has a 12cm scar on his right elbow, presumably from this wound. The book was issued througn the Genesenden Batterie, StuG Ers. u. Ausb. Battr. 200. From here he went through Panzer Ers. u. Ausb. Abt. Grossdeutschland, then through various units of this same GD unit, to Panzergrenadier Ers. Brigade GD and finally to Panzer Abteilung, Führer Grenadier Division.
The book has a nice photo of this soldier in a field gray Stug wrap (please excuse the copy protect lines on the scan). The book has a stamp for issue of the black Panzer uniform- cap, jacket, trousers. On Feb. 6 1945 he was given his iron ration and marching orders to the front. He was issued a P38 pistol numerous times and once was issued a Belgian pistol.
His awards were all won serving with StuG. Abt. 226 and they are:
Ostmedaille 6.10.42
KVKII with swords 1.9.43
General Assault Badge 17.7.44
EKII 25.7.44
Black wound badge 12.10.44
I would appreciate any opinions on what would be a realistic E-Stand value for this GD tanker Soldbuch. Feel free to send me a PM if you prefer not to talk about values on the E-Stand. I like this book but I cannot keep them all!
