My first instinct of Page 3 is that entries 3, 4 & 5 are all fakes - the signatures just don't look right. Looking at the signature on lines 1 & 2 it looks natural as if the person knows what name he is signing whereas the other ones are just squiggles where it looks like the signer has no idea what name he is trying to sign - same for the signatures on Page 17c. I'm assuming that all four should be the same person but none of the signatures are even remotely the same which indicates someone signing a name they don't have any experience at signing.Last edited by hucks216; 11-27-2011, 03:42 PM.

Thanks for your input Kevin. Well, going through the entire Soldbuch another time I found the solution... he is signing off his last equipment change with "Lange, Ogefr."; this is the 2nd of April 1945. The quick change in ranks and the multitude of awards were suspicious of course, but this small detail kind of gives it all away.
