    SoldBuch - Heeres/Wehrmacht Betreuungs Kompanie

    Hello,
I have bought this soldbuch a few weeks
    I have research all entry
And i'm very surprised, but it's a very very rare unit !
Soldier was in a Heeres/Wehrmacht Betreuungs Kompanie.

Just like Feldgendarmerie, who was assigned to divisions or Kommandantur, was unable to monitor soldiers on the move in disciplinary railway, it was created in early
of the war Heeres / Luftwaffen / Navy Streifendienst (service patrol) to monitor in stations or trains soldiers on the move.
In February 1941, Steifendienst three weapons are grouped in the "Wehrmachtsstreifendienst".

Despite the travel time by train, the command has failed to provide meals, sleeping at night, and means for sanitation at stations.
This service was subject to Streifendienst and form with that the new units. The Wehrmacht Betreuungs Kompanie.

These companies leave little trace in the literature.

For the Wehrmacht Betreuungs Kompanie 208, which is registered in the Soldbuch, I find using the number Feldpost, it exists between 11/13/44 and 21/05/45.

To buffer the Panzergrenadier stamp, he was visiting in April 45

I am very happy with this item, this is a rare piece

In English this would translate as 'welfare company' it's almost a little hard to think of these as military units, they were involved with looking after soliders on leave, R & R or whilst travelling.

Given the non-combat, almost non-military nature of their work it's not surprising betreuungseinheiten are almost never heard of.

My great grand father was in a Betreuungs Kompanie. In this unit he was a chef and valet for an officer in Krottingen Lithuania. My grandma was even allowed to stay with him there.

I don’t know to much about it. I know he wanted nothing to do with the war so that’s why he transferred into this unit. He drove around and cooked for an Officer, My grandma said his name was Lt. Fischer. They lived in this big house in Krottingen and they lived down stairs and there was a Major who lived up stairs. I know he use to always say that he never fired a gun during the war, he was conscripted in 1942. That’s all that I know. He was in Betreuungs Kompanie 18.

I hope this is readable, it was difficult to compress a very large map down into an attachment small enough to upload.

This map shows the welfare units within the area of the 20 Gebirgs Armee in Finland, Aug.44 and should give you an idea of where these units fitted in and what their duties were.
