He was stationed in Helland close to Fauske, and most likely he was put to clear mines. I know that the German Pows had to help farmers with their crop, or to chop down lumber. I found some letters from some German soldiers at my grand-grandfathers attic, where they wrote about their time at the farm.

Sorry but he wasn't involved in clearing mines, or at least there's nothing to suggest he was. This is a standard 'Norwegian' WP from '45. that it was closed in July is quite normal as this was when the evacuation of German troops began and a soldier was required to have both his SB and WP with him when going through screening (for suspected war criminals) prior to embarking onboard ship.
Mine clearing was conducted by the pionier units with 'volunteers' coming from other units attached to them.
