In all cases the stamps are in the opposite corners to the rivetts/staples. In the case of being glued in, only two stamps are used.

In this case, all four corners are stamped...however missing the staples!

              Hi All,

Gary T had some pics from a wehrpass where the photo had been replaced,I know cos I sold it to him and it fooled me!
If you're reading this Gary, how about posting them?
I think it would be good to see how it was done!

              Kind regards,
              Andy

Replaced as in period or replaced as in fake?

                    Ian & Dp,

Nicely illustrated. Thank you both for sharing the various types.

Ian, I am not certain, and could be totally mistaken, but for some reason both #18 and #19 appear to be Soldbuchs that I have seen for sale in the past. Cannnot put a finger on where they came from though.

                    Regards to you both.

                        Wehrpass and Soldbuch Photos

                        Hello to all,

As much among you I collect the documents relative to the different unities of the German army. Therefore this article introduced by David seems to me particularly interesting. As made it very exactly noticed Ian, every combinations are possible : with rivets, with staples or only stuck. Stamps on the top left and bottom right, one single stamp, four stamps, no stamp, etc....

In spite of standards promulgated by administrative departments and military, it is not necessary to forget that several millions of documents were delivered by multitudes different services. Therefore it is common to find again different manners to fix one photos. It is indeed easier in an administrative department to fix more cleanly a photography than an unity taken in the storm of the fights.

As example : the photography of the holder of this document was simply cut from its former Soldbuch LW ( still visible blue edge) and replaced in its new Soldbuch Heer.

                        Cordial greetings.

                        Polux

                          Wehrpass and Soldbuch Photos

Other interesting example : the photography of this soldier appears in a Wehrpass and was fixed by means of two rivets. Peculiarity of this example : two different stamps, a stamp of the unity and a stamp of the Wehrbezirkskommando.

                          Cordial greetings.
